The most searched recipes of 2020 have been unveiled and the record paints a reasonably revealing image of our lockdown diets.

Hand sanitiser tops Google’s search record adopted by loads of consolation meals and candy treats.

The prime 10 Google searches for recipes have been:

  1. Sourdough bread
  2. Whipped espresso or dalgona espresso.
  3. Disney churro
  4. Dole Whip (a pineapple flavoured cream used solely at Disneyland)
  5. DoubleTree cookie (a chocolate chip given out at DoubleTree motels)
  6. Ikea meatballs
  7. Chaffle (a mix of the phrases “cheese” and “waffle”)
  8. Hamburger bun
  9. Egg salad sandwich
  10. Healthy banana bread

Nutritionist Susie Burrell shared her favorite more healthy recipes with Weekend Sunrise.

Zucchini and Walnut Bread


  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp. Bicarbonate soda
  • 2/Three cup brown/caster sugar
  • half tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla essence
  • 2-Three zucchinis, grated
  • half cup walnuts, chopped as most popular
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup low fats milk
  • 1 tbsp. gentle olive oil

Preparation Method:

  1. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
  2. Mix our, bicarbonate of soda, sugar, cinnamon, grated zucchini and walnuts in a bowl then add the eggs, milk and oil.
  3. Spoon into the loaf tin and bake at 180°C for 50-60 minutes till cooked by way of.

Zucchini Bolognese


  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 carrots
  • Four celery stalks
  • 2 x 400g can diced tomatoes
  • 1/Four cup tomato paste
  • 1/Four cup dry white wine
  • Three bay leaves & thyme sprigs
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Four-6 spiralised zucchinis
  • Handful basil leaves


  1. For the bolognese sauce: warmth half the oil in a big frying pan over a medium warmth.
  2. Add the mince and brown, stirring to interrupt up any lumps.
  3. Remove from the pan and put aside.
  4. Heat the remaining oil and add the onion, garlic, celery and carrot. Sweat these components down until they’re smooth and aromatic.
  5. Return the mince to the pan together with the tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, bay leaves and thyme giving the combination stir.
  6. Cover and simmer for as much as an hour, however within the final 10 minutes of cooking take away the lid and let the sauce scale back and thicken.
  7. In this final 10 minutes of cooking, warmth a smaller pan over a low-medium warmth with a twig of oil and sauté the zucchini noodles for Eight-10 minutes.
  8. Serve the bolognese over serving to of zucchini noodles and prime with basil.
